Creche Voz do Operário – Ajuda is a kindergarten in Lisbon. You can enroll a child in a nursery from three months. If the child’s mother has taken full maternity leave, the child will go to nursery at the age of about 5 months. There are different groups in kindergarten:
– berçário – junior nursery group from 3 months to a year.
– creche – from 1 to 3 years.
– pre-escolar – garden from 3 to 6 years old.
Attendance at preschool institutions, unlike school, is not mandatory and is at the discretion of the parents. It is quite difficult to get into a state preschool institution due to the small number of places. The financial ability of parents to pay for the services of a private preschool institution is also assessed. In them, unlike the state ones, there are more places.
