Teatro do Bairro Alto is the new municipal theatre. It is concerned with the creation and presentation of experimental art projects, as well as the discursive practices that surround and intersect them. In the theatre, new and established artists, both Portuguese and foreign, meet from the various disciplines of the performing arts (theater, dance, music and sound art, performance) with an audience that is offered the tools for adventure and the desire to return. Currently, it’s already a building accessible to people with disabilities. The Main Hall has a lift platform that allows people in wheelchairs to access the stage.
